Pierre Lakes in the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness

Snomwass, CO – Lake

Pierre Lakes (12,100 ft) are a group of alpine lakes in the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness. The lakes are located in a basin below Capitol Peak (14,130 ft) and Clark Peak (13,570 ft). There is no official trail to Pierre Lakes, but access generally follows Snowmass Creek and Bear Creek up to the lakes. Pierre Lakes were named for Pierre Hunter.
