Winter Trails

Here you’ll find Winter trails listed by towns – Aspen, Ashcroft, Snowmass, Basalt, Carbondale, Redstone, Marble, Glenwood Springs, and Rifle. Click on the trail name for pictures, connections and directions. You can also rate and review each trail. To find something more specific, use our search tool to find trails for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, uphilling, and much more. For more information on nordic centers and groomed nordic trails in Aspen and the Roaring Fork Valley, see our page Nordic Centers and Systems.

NOTE: The Roaring Fork Valley has a wide range of altitudes and different areas experience different temperatures and lengths of Winter. Unless there is a seasonal closure, there’s nothing to limit you from enjoying any trail during the Winter months. Some trails are used more than others year-round and have better paths through the snow. During the Winter, there are also nordic specific trails that are groomed when the conditions are right. Knowing the conditions of the trail can radically effect your adventure.

Well, I'm here to tell you that you're probably gonna find out, as you go out there, that you're not gonna amount to JACK SQUAT!" You're gonna end up eating a steady diet of government cheese and LIVING IN A VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER!" -Matt Foley from the Rifle Boat Ramp  #aspentrailfinder
