Just completed a trip from Basalt over Hagerman with an experienced driver in a Jeep. RADICAL EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!! I would URGE those describing the experience in brochures…on the Internet, etc. to issue a “WARNING: DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS TRIP IN A CONVENTIONAL CAR!!!!! The road is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT and should only be taken with an experienced driver. It is an adventure and a beautiful trip but do not underestimate the difficulty.
