A small plaque on the structure reads: (Click to expand)
“This bell is dedicated to the memory and spirit of Max Doose who loved skiing and dedicated his time to helping all skiers as Sunlights first “volunteer courtesy patrol”. Max died at Sunlight Jan. 31, 1970 doing what he loved best.”
