A sign at the current site placed by the Aspen Skiing Company reads: (Click to expand)
“Fort Frog was a Western style fort and the home of Buttermilk’s Max the Moose! It was the favorite place for a snowball fight with friends or just a great place to take a break when skiing or riding on Buttermilk. Fort Frog burned to the ground during the spring of 2016 after a campfire was not extinguished properly and left unattended. Thankfully no one was hurt and the team at Buttermilk are looking forward to rebuilding soon!”
