Did this hike today, a spring day before Memorial day. It was easy to find once you realize the start is off of Upper river road and not accessible through Aspen Valley Ranch which you end up hiking behind. We went up and down for 2 miles off of the trailhead, there was a big red rock to sit on and the trail seemed to dwindle after that. Nice creek, nice views, nice walk. I can’t say I know the difference between Red Canyon Trail and Valley Ranch Trail.
