Nickelson Creek Trail #1962 is a difficult trail you can hike, run, and horseback ride that is dog friendly. This is a dirt trail in the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness in Old Snowmass, CO.

To access the Nickelson Creek Ranch Trailhead from Aspen, travel downvalley on Highway 82 toward Old Snowmass. At the Conoco gas station and traffic light turn left onto Snowmass Creek Road. Follow the road to a T intersection. Turn right onto Capitol Creek Road (CR 9). Follow the road for 4.5 miles to the unmarked Nickelson Creek Road (CR 9D) and turn left. Follow the sign left toward Nickelson Creek Ranch. In 1.9 miles the trailhead is on the left with a sign for Hunter Pass Trail and Haystack Mountain Trail.
