CORRECTION: The name of this park is “Pitkin County Healthy Rivers Whitewater Park” – NOT Basalt Whitewater Park. The park was constructed by Pitkin County Healthy Rivers in order to secure a massive RICD water right that protects the seasonal peak flows of the Upper Roaring Fork River from future diversion projects. Colorado Water Court decreed that water right absolute in the fall of 2020 with seniority dating back to 2010.
