Aspen to Crested Butte

Aspen, CO – Hard – Hike, Run, Mountain Bike, Horseback Ride, Dog Friendly – Rocky/Dirt

There are multiple routes and trails used to connect Aspen to Crested Butte. Three routes and trails cross through the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness each over a different pass – West Maroon Pass (12,465 ft), East Maroon Pass (11,820 ft), or Triangle Pass (12,900 ft). Dogs are not allowed past a section through the Conundrum Creek Valley used to go over Triangle Pass. Mountain biking to Crested Butte follows two routes, one over Pearl Pass (12,705 ft) and one route over Taylor Pass (11,930 ft) and Star Pass (12,330 ft).

West Maroon Trail over West Maroon Pass (12,465 ft) to Schofield Park – 11 Miles
East Maroon Trail over East Maroon Pass (11,820 ft) to Judd Falls Overlook – 15 Miles
Conundrum Creek Trail over Triangle Pass (12,900 ft) to Judd Falls Overlook – 18 Miles *Not a dog friendly route

This is a truly amazing trip! We just hiked the trail and found it to be somewhat difficult to find good information on the logistics or parking, getting into town, etc. You can check out a good guide here: https://www.tmbtent.com/guide-hiking-aspen-crested-butte/
