Castle Creek Road is an easy road you can snowshoe and cross-country ski that is dog friendly. This is a 2 mile winter road closure that is partly groomed in Ashcroft, CO.
From the roundabout outside Aspen, the road is plowed for 11 miles to the Ashcroft Ghost Town and the King Cabin (Ashcroft Ski Touring System). From the King Cabin the road is groomed with nordic tracks 1.5 miles to the Pine Creek Cookhouse. From the restaurant, the road is no longer groomed, but is well traveled to Montezuma Basin Road (FSR #102).
